Service line damaged?

What is a service line and who is responsible:

Service Line

The powerlines that run from the street to your house is called a service line. Service lines can be either overhead or underground.

Who is responsible for the service line?

Property owners are responsible for the powerlines, pole and underground cables that supply electricity from our network to their property. In most cases the service line starts at the property boundary.

This doesn't include any Northpower-owned meters, relays and transformers.

Service Line 2

If you have damage to your service line:

  • If the damage is near the point of entry (the connection point where the line attaches to your building), your electrician can help.
  • If you have damage to the line and poles on your property, please get in touch with one of the contractors listed in the table below.

Any damage will likely be covered by your insurance, please be sure to get in touch with your insurance company too.
