Northpower Fibre will install the fibre line and equipment. Most fibre is connected via an ‘overhead line’ (always installed on the same poles as your electricity service line). In other cases, especially where your existing electricity service line is already underground, the fibre service line will be installed underground, which may require drilling and digging on your property.
Where there is drilling or digging, Northpower Fibre will reinstate all surfaces on a “like for like” basis. Northpower Fibre will use concrete where concrete has been used, grass where grass has been used and asphalt where asphalt has been used, and reinstatement will be limited to the area where the trench has been dug.
You should be advised of the installation type at the time consent is requested and prior to the work starting.
If you have any other questions about the fibre line and Optical Network Terminal (ONT) installation, contact us
Northpower Fibre requires property owners to agree to and sign their “Agreement to Install Communication Service Lead and Associated Equipment” prior to UFB being installed at your property.
The License to Install Telecommunications Equipment Agreement Form can be downloaded from our Agreements Page.
Northpower Fibre does not charge for installations under 200 metres for residential property or under 30 metres for businesses.
If you live on Kaiwaka Mangawhai Road there may be costs to connect. We will contact you to discuss once you submit an order with your retailer.
