We hire a number of trainees throughout the North Island in a variety of different roles. The most common trainee roles we recruit for are line mechanics, cable jointers and electrical fitters.

Our trainee recruitment process follows a number of steps including a boot camp to give you a taste of what your role at Northpower could be like.
If you're looking to enter the industry and we don't have the role you are looking for, express your interest and we'll be in touch when we have our next trainee intake in your area.
Applications are screened and short-listed. You'll be invited to an interview and we'll ask you to complete a literacy and numeracy test.
If you're shortlisted from the interview stage you will undergo pre-employment screening, reference checking and a short online safety assessment.
Boot camp can be from one to three days depending on the role. You'll learn from industry specialists and get a taste of what your dream role involves.
If you're successful you'll receive an offer of employment - congratulations!
Once you're on board you'll be signed up with the relevant industry training organisation. Over the next few years you'll work closely with your team who'll support you in gaining your qualifications.
All your training is paid for by us.
