Tai Tokerau Tall Ship Challenge - powered by Northpower and Top Energy

Northpower will be sponsoring two Whangarei schools and one school from Kaipara while Top Energy will be sponsoring two schools from the Far North District, with two places being allocated to each school.

Last year’s trophy was won by the team from Bream Bay College who fielded a very strong team. This year, the theme will be “Safety at Sea” with school candidates being asked to submit an item (essay, poem or picture) demonstrating their understanding the importance of safety in the maritime environment.

We fully support this year’s safety theme encouraging youngsters to take an active role ensuring their own safety and that of others while at sea. The trip departs from Marsden Cove on Friday 13th May and returns to Opua on Thursday 19th May and registration forms can be found on the R.
