$85 Northpower Trust Distribution

Eligible Northpower consumers will receive the credit, regardless of which electricity retailer sends out their power account.

NEPT Chairman Erc Angelo says the distribution is the customer’s share of Northpower’s profits paid to the Trust by Northpower. The NEPT owns Northpower on behalf of the beneficiaries, which are ultimately the customers.

“We are pleased to be able to pass on a distribution to consumers, which reflect the continuing success of our lines company, Northpower,” Mr Angelo said.

In addition to the distribution from the NEPT, customers have also enjoyed line holidays from Northpower.

Northpower supplies electricity to the region through a number of electricity retailers, including Meridian, Genesis, Contact and Mercury.

“We regularly receive feedback from people on the benefits of keeping Northpower in local ownership,” says Mr Angelo.

The credit is allocated to each power installation (ICP) connected to the Northpower network as at midnight 25th August 2009. If for any reason customers do not receive the $85 credit on their September power accounts they should contact the NEPT information line on 0800 434 100.
