$85 Northpower Trust Distribution
Electricity consumers in the Whangarei and Kaipara Districts will receive an $85 tax free credit on their September power account. This distribution is from the Northpower Electric Power Trust (NEPT).
Northpower increases line charges to Electricity Retailers
Line charges for Electricity Retailers operating in Northpower’s Network will increase from 1 April 2009. The additional cost to Retailers such as Meridian, Genesis, Empower, Contact and Mercury equates to just 13 cents per day for the average domestic consumer.
$5 million dollar line charge holiday
Northpower will provide all consumers connected to its network with a line charge holiday, which this year totals $5 million.
Northpower employee found dead
Colleagues found a Northpower employee at Whangarei depot dead this morning near his vehicle. It is believed he passed away last night from what appears to be natural causes.

Northland owned and operated Northpower Ltd, announced today that it took out the ‘Highly Commended’ Award in the Private Sector category, for their Behavioral Based Safety programme and work around employee engagement.
The 2008 Electricity Rescue Helicopter Appeal Begins
Northpower and Top Energy the two Northland electricity lines companies, announced the start of the 2008 Electricity Rescue Helicopter Appeal, today. NEST Chairman John Bain said that Northpower and Top Energy have supported the Electricity Rescue Helicopter since the service began 20 years ago.
Northpower purchases Energex New Zealand
Northland owned and operated Northpower Ltd announced today the purchase of Energex’s New Zealand based operations. Energex provides electrical maintenance services for some of the country’s largest electricity and gas networks.
