Power company worker found dead
Marlborough Express - Blenheim, New Zealand.
A man found dead at a Whangarei power company this morning probably suffered a heart attack, his employer said.
The body of the man in his 60s was found in a truck bay by workers at Northpower just before 8am.
It appeared the man, who has not been named, suffered a heart attack, general manager Richie Dempster said.
“He was not working overnight. He had finished work yesterday afternoon on a regular shift around 5pm and was scheduled to start work this morning when he was found. So we’ve yet to determine the time of death.”
Whangarei police acting sergeant Russell Windle said police were investigating and a post mortem would be held to determine the cause of death.
The Department of Labour had been notified.
